2-YEAR PRACTICAL NURSING

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This program is designed for students to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes and judgment in order to provide safe nursing care under the direction of a licensed professional nurse (RN), licensed physician (MD), or a licensed dentist in a hospital, nursing home, or other medical facility.

Graduates of the program will be eligible seek employment in multiple health-care settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, physician offices and clinics, and home care agencies.

Graduates of this program may wish to pursue further medical training as registered nurse. This training is provided by schools of nursing or colleges offering the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

    For the effectiveness of delivering the course, the following shall be observed:
  • Lecture and student teacher interaction or discussion shall be implemented.
  • Laboratory and hands-on activities utilizing various equipment and tools relevant to a specific subject matter.
  • On the job training and Related Learning Experiences in clinical setting.

Duration

The Practical Nursing (NC IV) consists of 83 credit units, involving a total nominal duration of 2363 hours.

Recognition

This program is accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). It is fully recognized within the Philippines and internationally for further education and employment in the private and public sector.
