In a deadly fight for the season opening volleyball game bacon, the St. Augustine Crusaders prevailed
over the ABE/ACLC Spartans amidst the thunderous cheer of the massive yellow flag-bearing crowd and the heavy downpour in the metropolis,
taking the wide lead during the first set (25-8), and exacting the kill on the second (25-12) with the total score of 50-20.
“We only have one goal, and that is to win the championship” said Crusaders Volleyball Team Manager Edith Cablao, whose team has given the
Crusaders its first taste of victory for the 2009 Ambassador’s Cup Season 1 held at the Ynares Gym in Pasig City.
With Coach Dr. Alex Perez and Assistant Coach Emmanuel Yabut at the helm, the all-female team is all set to conquer the court once again in
its clash with the AMA Titans on July 1, 2009 at the Meralco Gym, also in Pasig City.
The winning team is led by Patricia McWilliam, the Captain Ball, from SASN Makati, and composed of Jessica Arsenio (Cubao), Caryl Bigcas
(Cubao), Aiza Lenise, Estuista (Makati), Mary Grace Gonzaga (Makati), Ms. Nacionales (Cubao), Claire Panaglima (España), Analyn Requinto
